Panama – is the largest ship registry in the world.

Malta – Is the largest flag registry for Private Leisure Yachts

However this is very much historic data, and the benefits of other flagging states that are now available are more relevant it todays world. It’s a much more even playing field.

    Will depend on multiple factors.

    1. Owner nationality (EU, NO-EU)
    2. Location to be used
    3. Private or Commercial
    4. Fiscal Status
    5. Flagging State & Ownership Structure can be formedĀ  in two separate Jurisdictions or indeed the same.

This is very much a case by case basis.

Core reasons for placing your yacht into charter

    1. Fiscal/Financial & VAT benefits (Please note; Flagging State, Structure Formation, Crew Nationality, Nationality of Owner/Users, Location operated etc… all effect this benefit )
    2. The ability to cover a certain amount of recurring operational/running costs
    3. Crew motivation/retention if the yacht is used sparingly by the owner.

    Hope that helps.
