Monaco is the clear leader in terms of the numbers of ultra-wealthy per resident; the city is a destination for any yachting enthusiast and home to many. Monaco has just 56 residents per UHNW individual, which is incredibly low.

Germany is the leader in building 100+ meter yachts. Currently, 12 yachts longer than 100 meters are under construction in Germany.

Today’s superyacht fleet is mostly a motor yacht fleet. Only 16% of the fleet are sailing yachts.

L.W.L. – The horizontal distance between where the stern and bow intersect the water. Length measured along the waterline when fully loaded. In case it is not mentioned, the length of the summer load waterline is considered the length of the waterline

The Bulbous bow (bulb) modifies the way the water flow around the hull, reducing drag and thus increasing speed, range and fuel efficiency. Large ships with bulbous bows generally have 12% to 15% better fuel efficiency than similar vessels without a bulbous bow. A bulbous bow also increases the buoyancy of the forward part and reduces the pitching of the ship a bit.

The moulded dimensions are without the shell plate thickness. That means that moulded dimensions are the internal measurements taken inside the shell plating or outside of the framing.
