When does a yacht need an agent?

A Captain realises the need for an agent when he/she has not appointed one. Imagine being in a foreign country you have never visited
before and dealing with foreign bureaucracy; it could be a nightmare. Therefore, a yacht always needs an agent to guarantee a safe and straightforward stay. In most cases nowadays it is required by law for commercial yachts and yachts of over 500 GRT to have a yacht agent.
